An unexpectedly hard shot by Piers Postolan in the 36th minute of play forced Wooler's goalkeeper Joseph Mortimer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zack Sutcliffe hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. The supporters of Wooler booed when Helsby United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rowan Hellen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute of the match Nathanial Markham sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Louis Roche skillfully saved the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Piers Postolan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Huey Hinchcliffe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Helsby United's supporters rose to their feet, but Huey Hinchcliffe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joseph Mortimer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joseph Mortimer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Piers Postolan's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Helsby United's Louis Roche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marc Reid in the 78th minute of play. Francis Towler kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Francis Towler's late challenge caught a Wooler's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francis Towler helped the player get up and apologised. 92 minutes into the match, Helsby United's goal looked a bit too open when Nathanial Markham came free, but Louis Roche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Graeme Jobling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Mortimer having to interfere. Louis Roche made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marc Reid in the 96th minute.
