When Brian Lynch came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Bulwell fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brian Lynch couldn't finish the play. 29 minutes into the match, Streatham Starlights's Ricky Button sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ben Gaskell narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 31 minutes into the game, Brian Lynch cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Miles Fowler was a little too slow when Brian Lynch got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 62nd minute. The score was now 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricky Button in the 65th minute of play forced Bulwell's goalkeeper Ben Gaskell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mike Langford was slow to take the kick. During this time Streatham Starlights's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, Bulwell's Oscar Armitage got a free kick in the 98th minute.
