Ritchie Gale hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Nigel Hilton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Stuart Sawyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Derek Croxford didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Beverley Saints F.C.'s Tommy Clarkson shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 16th match minute, Beverley Saints F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Colin Stone to maneuver through the defense. Stuart Sawyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Gerrard in the 18th minute of the match. In the 37th minute Lenny Horner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek Croxford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Tommy Clarkson managed to get in a good position for a shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tommy Gerrard to make the kick off. Tommy Gerrard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Stuart Sawyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nigel Hilton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Dumpleton didn't get a good kick on the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Beverley Saints F.C.'s Lenny Horner sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Derek Croxford narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
