Seating: 1829, VIP seats: 158) A collision led to Liverpool Pirates getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Leroy Easter hit a great ball. In the 6th minute Jay Peat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Den Kerr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th match minute, Renton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthew Bartlett to maneuver through the defense. Damian Keane made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Kristopher Wheeler sent off a good shot on target. Liverpool Pirates's Den Kerr played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jay Peat in the 16th minute of play. Den Kerr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grant Duff in the 17th minute of play. Den Kerr took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jay Peat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ashley Draper scored 1-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Damian Keane, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mitch May in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Mark Rowe's late challenge caught a Liverpool Pirates's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mark Rowe helped the player get up and apologised. Den Kerr showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Toovey in the 43rd minute of the match.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mitch May to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Liverpool Pirates's zone, Fred Toovey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Den Kerr came out of the goal and Fred Toovey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Grant Duff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Mitch May had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Damian Keane. Renton United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mitch May was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Mark Rowe kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 76 minutes into the game, Liverpool Pirates's Ashley Draper nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Damian Keane made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Jay Peat could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Den Kerr made a huge save. A collision led to Liverpool Pirates getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Neil Caine hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the match, Renton United's Conal Windsor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Den Kerr narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norman Burns during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Liverpool Pirates booed when Renton United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norman Burns didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Grant Duff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grant Duff struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Den Kerr didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Renton United. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Liverpool Pirates fans cheered their team off the field, for while Renton United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
