After a defensive mix-up in Liverpool Pirates's zone, Fred Toovey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Den Kerr came out of the goal and Fred Toovey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Grant Duff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Mitch May had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Damian Keane. Renton United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mitch May was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Mark Rowe kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 76 minutes into the game, Liverpool Pirates's Ashley Draper nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Damian Keane made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Jay Peat could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Den Kerr made a huge save. The Liverpool Pirates fans cheered their team off the field, for while Renton United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
