Seating: 1833, VIP seats: 158) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mitch May started the match with the kick off. Den Kerr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Mawson in the 4th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Matthew Jones in the 5th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Liverpool Pirates's Leroy Easter. When Liverpool Pirates's Mitch May in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Trinidad's goalie prevented a goal. Den Kerr showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Louis Welsh, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. If Louis Welsh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leigh Fayle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Den Kerr having to interfere. Den Kerr took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Louis Welsh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matthew Jones kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Mitch May managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liverpool Pirates's supporters rose to their feet, but Mitch May was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan England breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 20th minute, Ashley Draper left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Liverpool Pirates fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 26th minute, Tony Mawson made a precise shot to the right of Den Kerr. Liverpool Pirates's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 37th minute Leigh Fayle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Den Kerr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Louis Welsh had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Den Kerr. Liverpool Pirates's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Louis Welsh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Tony Mawson's late challenge caught a Liverpool Pirates's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tony Mawson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th match minute, Trinidad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony Mawson to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Liverpool Pirates getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Ron Moorhouse hit a great ball. The Liverpool Pirates players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Trinidad were winning 1-2.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Louis Welsh was the one to do the kick off. Leigh Fayle hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Trinidad's Matthew Jones got a free kick in the 56th minute. With a little luck, Liverpool Pirates's Den Kerr got control of the ball when Leigh Fayle tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Louis Welsh in the 64th minute of play forced Liverpool Pirates's goalkeeper Den Kerr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leroy Easter charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leroy Easter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 65th minute, Leigh Fayle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Den Kerr was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Leigh Fayle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Den Kerr showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Louis Welsh, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Leroy Easter hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After 73 played minutes Trinidad got a freekick which was hit by Tony Mawson. Trinidad's Ivan England played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mitch May in the 75th minute of play. In the 79th minute Callum Watson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan England saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st match minute, Trinidad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ken Askew to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute, Leigh Fayle left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Trinidad fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. If Louis Welsh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Louis Welsh in the 91st minute of play forced Liverpool Pirates's goalkeeper Den Kerr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trinidad's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
