The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hugh Ellerby during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of London Army United booed when Paybridge Celtic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugh Ellerby didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Iain Steel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th minute, Richie Maclean ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lewis Winstanley was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Lewis Winstanley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Harrington, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the game, Toby Weatherhead recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lewis Winstanley. Toby Weatherhead showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Paybridge Celtic's Lewis Winstanley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richie Maclean in the 17th minute of play. Toby Weatherhead could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Lewis Winstanley made a huge save. After 21 played minutes Paybridge Celtic got a freekick which was hit by Kris Shipperley. The long shot by Toby Weatherhead in the 24th minute really tested Lewis Winstanley's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After some careless play in the London Army United defense, Wesley Charles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Damien Steele. The London Army United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Damien Steele should have stopped the shot. Hugh Ellerby was shown his second yellow card after 28 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 29th match minute, Paybridge Celtic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugh Ellerby to maneuver through the defense. Lewis Winstanley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richie Maclean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lewis Winstanley was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kris Harrington showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 34 minute of play. In the 38th minute Richie Maclean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lewis Winstanley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Richie Maclean kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lewis Winstanley. That made the score 4-1 in the 42 minute of play. Roy Dwyer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Toby Weatherhead made a kick off. When Rodd Mulligan was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 52 minutes had been played. A collision led to Paybridge Celtic getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Rodd Mulligan hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kris Harrington in the 57th minute of play forced Paybridge Celtic's goalkeeper Lewis Winstanley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 61 played minutes Paybridge Celtic got a freekick which was hit by Wesley Charles. 62 minutes into the game, Richie Maclean cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Lewis Winstanley was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toby Weatherhead in the 66th minute of play forced Paybridge Celtic's goalkeeper Lewis Winstanley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Wesley Charles fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paybridge Celtic's protests and gave Wesley Charles a yellow card for diving instead. London Army United made a substitution. Neil Webster replaced Vincent Campbell. Lewis Winstanley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toby Weatherhead in the 78th minute of the match. Lewis Winstanley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toby Weatherhead, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 82nd minute, Roy Dwyer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Damien Steele was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. Paybridge Celtic's Lewis Winstanley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richie Maclean in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Toby Weatherhead left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The London Army United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-2. 93 minutes into the match, Richie Maclean had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lewis Winstanley. Paybridge Celtic's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Richie Maclean was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-2. Lewis Winstanley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neil Webster, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. London Army United had played much better football throughout.
