Pedro Gardner came out and tried to block the shot, but Damon Fordham slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 16th minute. Pedro Gardner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damon Fordham in the 19th minute. Pedro Gardner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubens Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Pedro Gardner made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Alessandro Danza sent off a good shot on target. When Rubens Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Cheltenham City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubens Moraes couldn't finish the play. With 65 minutes on the clock, Verne Forrester commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 64th minute, one of Blandford Forum:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Blandford Forum. Cheltenham City's Alfie Cunningham was substituted for Simon Flemming. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Russell Ferdinand during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Russell Ferdinand kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After having played for 75 minutes, Rubens Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cheltenham City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rubens Moraes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ash Allwright fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Gardner having to interfere. A collision led to Cheltenham City getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Damon Fordham hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Stuart Hicks ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Gardner was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. 87 minutes into the match, Stuart Hicks had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Gardner. Blandford Forum's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stuart Hicks was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. In the 92nd minute, Rubens Moraes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cheltenham City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Ash Allwright received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Pedro Gardner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Cheltenham City were the better team. Cheltenham City's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
