Seating: 1791, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Pavol Gefert took the kick off in the first half of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernest Šefčík in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gabriel Vidlička saved Runina FK from getting behind. FK VSS 1952 Košice's Khair ad-Din Drogba got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 6 minutes, Khair ad-Din Drogba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FK VSS 1952 Košice's supporters crossed their fingers, but Khair ad-Din Drogba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gabriel Vidlička made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johannes Tingberg in the 12th minute of play. Gabriel Vidlička stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernest Šefčík's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Khair ad-Din Drogba took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gabriel Vidlička. Gabriel Vidlička dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Runina FK's Pavol Gefert got a free kick in the 17th minute. 19 minutes into the game, Pavol Gefert recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Miroslav Čankovský. Pavol Gefert showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. When Martin Kuba came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the FK VSS 1952 Košice fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Kuba couldn't finish the play. Khair ad-Din Drogba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 35 played minutes Runina FK got a freekick which was hit by Juraj Rusnák. After a defensive mix-up in Runina FK's zone, Martin Kuba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Vidlička came out of the goal and Martin Kuba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernest Šefčík in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gabriel Vidlička prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 46 minutes into the match, Runina FK's goal looked a bit too open when Ernest Šefčík came free, but Gabriel Vidlička reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
Ernest Šefčík fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Vidlička having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Martin Urbányi managed to get in a good position for a shot. FK VSS 1952 Košice's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Urbányi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Vidlička breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Martin Kuba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Vidlička having to interfere. Ernest Šefčík sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juraj Rusnák kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Khair ad-Din Drogba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gabriel Vidlička read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Martin Kuba took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gabriel Vidlička. Gabriel Vidlička dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Ernest Šefčík was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 76th minute. FK VSS 1952 Košice's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 79th minute, Khair ad-Din Drogba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 82 minutes, Martin Štafura managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Runina FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Štafura was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Martin Kuba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute, Ernest Šefčík ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gabriel Vidlička was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. In the 95th minute, Antón Želínsky hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Runina FK getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Tomáš Olejník hit a great ball.
