An unexpected shot in the 12th minute by Pavol Kráľ got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Peter Pelikán showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Hriadeľ in the 14th minute of the match. Gabriel Repčík showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomáš Móder, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. When Richard Hriadeľ came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Vikartovce fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richard Hriadeľ couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pavol Kráľ got free with Peter Pelikán in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 22nd minute Richard Hriadeľ shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Pelikán saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute of the match Daniel Očenášek sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gabriel Repčík skillfully saved the ball. When Dušan Vojtek fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kluknava's protests and gave Dušan Vojtek a yellow card for diving instead. If Erik Drapák had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Peter Pelikán made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Hriadeľ in the 42nd minute of play. Juraj Švec hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Richard Hriadeľ recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 46 minutes, Gabriel Šeňo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vikartovce and the Kluknava players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gabriel Šeňo kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomáš Móder to make the kick off. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kluknava's goalkeeper Peter Pelikán, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Richard Hriadeľ had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erik Drapák's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gabriel Repčík read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Tomáš Móder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erik Drapák received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Gabriel Repčík tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Kluknava's zone, Richard Hriadeľ stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Pelikán came out of the goal and Richard Hriadeľ tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 77 minutes into the game, Vikartovce's Pavol Kráľ nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Peter Pelikán made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Pavol Kráľ received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Peter Pelikán tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vikartovce's Pavol Kráľ got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Richard Hriadeľ had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peter Pelikán showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavol Kráľ, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute of the match Tomáš Híreš sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Peter Pelikán skillfully saved the ball. If Richard Hriadeľ had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kluknava's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
