Ján Hlavatý showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Dzadony in the 18th minute of the match. Gabriel Dzadony struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Ján Hlavatý didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cigla. Ján Hlavatý came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Cigla's Aurel Rendľa. But to his dismay, Aurel Rendľa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Aurel Rendľa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ján Hlavatý having to interfere. After having played for 30 minutes, Aurel Rendľa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cigla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aurel Rendľa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Michal Mrázik was shown his second yellow card after 31 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 32nd minute, Michal Mrázik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 34 minutes, Aurel Rendľa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cigla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aurel Rendľa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Gabriel Dzadony had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The FK Púchov players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cigla were winning 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erik Semanovič made a kick off. Gabriel Dzadony who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Ján Hlavatý when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A well placed Aurel Rendľa short distance shot in the 54th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. FK Púchov's Ján Hlavatý proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save FK Púchov from getting a goal against them. 59 minutes in the game, Aurel Rendľa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ján Hlavatý having to interfere. FK Púchov's Ján Hlavatý played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurel Rendľa in the 69th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Cigla's Gabriel Dzadony sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ján Hlavatý narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gustáv Sisák charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustáv Sisák the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Imrich Apač walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 80 minutes into the match, Cigla's Gabriel Dzadony sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ján Hlavatý narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 82nd minute, Erik Puškár hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Gabriel Dzadony came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Cigla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Dzadony couldn't finish the play. If Aurel Rendľa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in FK Púchov's zone, Gabriel Dzadony stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ján Hlavatý came out of the goal and Gabriel Dzadony tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 93 minutes, Aurel Rendľa made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. FK Púchov's Ján Hlavatý tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Aurel Rendľa hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Aurel Rendľa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ján Hlavatý was relentless in the 99th minute of the game. The FK Púchov fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Cigla were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
