Redžep Šumnik came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Šempeter-Vrtojba's Ratko Botonjić. But to his dismay, Ratko Botonjić quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Celesto Anderwald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Redžep Šumnik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ratko Botonjić in the 38th minute of the match. After 41 played minutes Mislinja FC got a freekick which was hit by Vojislav Višnjar. In the 52nd minute of the match, Ratko Botonjić got a very nice opportunity to score, but Redžep Šumnik was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Virgil Kern fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mislinja FC's protests and gave Virgil Kern a yellow card for diving instead. After 53 played minutes Mislinja FC got a freekick which was hit by Virgil Kern. In the 59th minute, Jurij Ropret got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Mislinja FC's goal looked a bit too open when Celesto Anderwald came free, but Redžep Šumnik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Šempeter-Vrtojba's Ratko Botonjić sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Redžep Šumnik narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 72 minutes, Nebojša Antonić mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Šempeter-Vrtojba and the Mislinja FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Šempeter-Vrtojba's goalkeeper Giuliano Prusnik, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Redžep Šumnik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celesto Anderwald, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Ratko Botonjić's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Redžep Šumnik read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Šempeter-Vrtojba's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
