Silvo Kaker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adis Nedižavec having to interfere. Ian Cerkvenik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Izudin Koler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Kerbler having to interfere. Kobarid FC's Hektor Pevec suffered a concussion in the 35th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Darko Ivnik got his second yellow card in the match during the 35th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 36th match minute, Gabrovka ND was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darko Ivnik to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Izudin Koler in the 37th minute of play forced Gabrovka ND's goalkeeper Samuel Kerbler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ian Cerkvenik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Izudin Koler to make the kick off.
