In the 23rd minute of the match, Husejin Kusić tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bernard Kolman saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Zdravko Buh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zdravko Buh in the 29th minute of play forced ND MURA 05's goalkeeper Simbad Vogel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 minutes of play ND MURA 05's Romi Šneberger was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, ND MURA 05's Romi Šneberger got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 34th minute there was a penalty for Ribnica na Pohorju. George Sončar stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Simbad Vogel. 0-2. 43 minutes into the match, ND MURA 05's goal looked a bit too open when Almir Franko came free, but Simbad Vogel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Preložnik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Zdravko Buh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ribnica na Pohorju's supporters rose to their feet, but Zdravko Buh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simbad Vogel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Felix Preložnik made a kick off. Simbad Vogel made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Almir Franko sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Ribnica na Pohorju's zone, Felix Preložnik stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernard Kolman came out of the goal and Felix Preložnik tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Felix Preložnik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Zdravko Buh was extremely unlucky when he, in the 65th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 68 played minutes ND MURA 05 got a freekick which was hit by Kristifor Klampfer. Ribnica na Pohorju's George Sončar couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 69th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for ND MURA 05. If Kristifor Klampfer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Almir Franko in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simbad Vogel saved ND MURA 05 from getting behind. After 76 minutes, Renco Šestić mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ND MURA 05 and the Ribnica na Pohorju players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 76th minute of the game. One of ND MURA 05:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ribnica na Pohorju:s goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zdravko Buh in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simbad Vogel saved ND MURA 05 from getting behind. Simbad Vogel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Almir Franko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 97 minutes into the match, Ribnica na Pohorju's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Preložnik came free, but Bernard Kolman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ribnica na Pohorju walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
