In the 11th match minute, NK Kranj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Medin Makuc to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th match minute, FC Pirates was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tino Verbec to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the match, FC Pirates's goal looked a bit too open when Ferdo Platiše came free, but Tjaš Ercegović reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The FC Pirates fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tjaš Ercegović should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

If Ferdo Platiše had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tjaš Ercegović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferdo Platiše, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 55th minute, Mervan Miheljak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. NK Kranj's Dragoljub Kopše was substituted for Ferdo Platiše.
