Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jonathan Ahlkvist started the match with the kick off. When Jon Åström fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bergby IK's protests and gave Jon Åström a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes Bergby IK got a freekick which was hit by Jon Åström. Christopher Sundin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sigvard Vestberg went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 14 played minutes Bergby IK got a freekick which was hit by Sigvard Vestberg. Sven-Oskar Burman struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Bertil Billock didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borensberg. In the 18th match minute, Borensberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jack Berg to maneuver through the defense. If Sigvard Vestberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Bergby IK's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Ahlkvist came free, but Bertil Billock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute of the match August Eskilsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christopher Sundin skillfully saved the ball. Jonathan Ahlkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Bertil Billock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nils Ålberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christopher Sundin having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nils Ålberg in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christopher Sundin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bo Pihlwall kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Sigvard Vestberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Christopher Sundin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sigvard Vestberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sigvard Vestberg in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christopher Sundin saved Borensberg from getting behind. Christian Ahlén's late challenge caught a Borensberg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christian Ahlén helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Borensberg booed when Bergby IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Ahlén didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Borensberg's Ove Byström tried to score from far away in the 47th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sigvard Vestberg to make the kick off. Bergby IK's Bertil Billock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Oskar Burman in the 54th minute of play. If Jonathan Ahlkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the match, Bergby IK's Nils Ålberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christopher Sundin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jonathan Ahlkvist might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bertil Billock. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jonathan Ahlkvist ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 62nd minute, Sven-Oskar Burman made a precise shot to the right of Bertil Billock. Bergby IK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Sigvard Vestberg kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Christopher Sundin. That made the score 2-2 in the 69 minute of play. Jonathan Ahlkvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bertil Billock read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Sven-Oskar Burman succeeded in the game's 74th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-2. In the 77th match minute, Borensberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Kjellkvist to maneuver through the defense. When Bergby IK's Sigvard Vestberg, in the 78th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Bergby IK. Bertil Billock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Oskar Burman, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Nils Ålbergs short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Christopher Sundin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Sigvard Vestberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bergby IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Sigvard Vestberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christopher Sundin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Sigvard Vestberg, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 90 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Christopher Sundin was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Bertil Billock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Ahlkvist in the 93rd minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Borensberg fans cheered their team off the field, for while Bergby IK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
