The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Kent Sandström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aron Lenberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Pelle Norberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pelle Norberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kent Sandström in the 6th minute of the match. 6 minutes into the match, Kent Sandström notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of AIK 1891's Pelle Norberg. Pelle Norberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pelle Norberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernan Canor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pelle Norberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kent Sandström, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Vrigstad FF's Hampus Boberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Vrigstad FF from getting a goal against them. Vrigstad FF's Hampus Boberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars-Erik Kullander in the 14th minute of play. Kent Sandström struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Pelle Norberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vrigstad FF. Lars-Erik Kullander scored 1-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hampus Boberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Vrigstad FF fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Vrigstad FF's Aron Lenberg looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Kent Sandström kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 37th minute Hernan Canor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pelle Norberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Hernan Canor made a precise shot to the right of Pelle Norberg. AIK 1891's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. A collision led to Vrigstad FF getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Allan Hedberg hit a great ball. Vrigstad FF's Hampus Boberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Knut Hjälm in the 50th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kent Sandström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hernan Canor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Pelle Norberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kent Sandström got free with Pelle Norberg in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 59 played minutes AIK 1891 got a freekick which was hit by Lars-Erik Kullander. Vrigstad FF's Hampus Boberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per-Erik Hedström in the 62nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Vrigstad FF defense, Knut Hjälm kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hampus Boberg. The Vrigstad FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hampus Boberg should have stopped the shot. In the 75th minute, Hernan Canor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pelle Norberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-5. Vrigstad FF's Hampus Boberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Åke Sundin in the 81st minute of play. In the 88th minute, Kent Sandström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pelle Norberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-6. After a defensive mix-up in AIK 1891's zone, Kent Sandström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pelle Norberg came out of the goal and Kent Sandström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
