Bengt Lang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yngve Alegren, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Bertil Hult fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greger Månsson having to interfere. Sågmyra IF's Bengt Lang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yngve Alegren in the 39th minute of play. In the 43rd minute Yngve Alegren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt Lang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Yngve Alegren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Yngve Alegren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Bengt Lang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stefan Lundqvist made a kick off. Stefan Lundqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Yngve Alegren came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Uttran fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yngve Alegren couldn't finish the play. If Yngve Alegren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bengt Lang stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jan-Olof Ahlroht's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. In the 72nd minute of the match Vilhelm Skålberg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bengt Lang skillfully saved the ball. Jan-Olof Ahlroht sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Sågmyra IF booed when Uttran was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Billy Emander didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bertil Hult received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Greger Månsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bertil Hults short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Greger Månsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bo Bodin hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Uttran's zone, Stefan Lundqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Greger Månsson came out of the goal and Stefan Lundqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Bertil Hult managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sågmyra IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Bertil Hult was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Greger Månsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Greger Månsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefan Lundqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Uttran's Greger Månsson got control of the ball when Bertil Hult tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Jan-Olof Ahlroht had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Sågmyra IF's Filip Widberg got a free kick in the 97th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
