Spectators: 7316 (Terracing: 5488, Seating: 1683, VIP seats: 145) After a defensive mix-up in Lokomotiv Kiev's zone, Ingvar Linqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valter Arvidsson came out of the goal and Ingvar Linqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Albert Willig blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valter Arvidsson having to make a save. Dan Aronsson's late challenge caught a Lokomotiv Kiev's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dan Aronsson helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Varbergs Bois's Dan Aronsson got a free kick in the 7th minute. Valter Arvidsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lars Björkdahl in the 11th minute. Albert Willig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Valter Arvidsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valter Arvidsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albert Willig's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. If Ingvar Linqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard Browall hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Henrik Magnusson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John Fransson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valter Arvidsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albert Willig in the 52nd minute of play. John Fransson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Varbergs Bois getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Lars Björkdahl hit a great ball. After 56 played minutes Lokomotiv Kiev got a freekick which was hit by Richard Browall. Henrik Magnusson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Robin Söderman came out and tried to block the shot, but Henrik Magnusson slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 59th minute. In the 63rd minute, Albert Willig left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Varbergs Bois fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albert Willig in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valter Arvidsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valter Arvidsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aron Mellberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aron Mellberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Valter Arvidsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albert Willig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valter Arvidsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Valter Arvidsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albert Willig, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Aron Mellberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Henrik Magnusson was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 83rd minute. Lokomotiv Kiev's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Karl Sjöberg fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lokomotiv Kiev's protests and gave Karl Sjöberg a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th match minute, Lokomotiv Kiev was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl Sjöberg to maneuver through the defense. Robin Söderman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kjell Samuelsson in the 90th minute of play.
