The supporters of Knapparnas IF booed when Midland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt-Arne Norberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Michael Lindgren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Midland's supporters rose to their feet, but Michael Lindgren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Knapparnas IF's goalkeeper Hubert Nyström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fredrik Sjöö in the 43rd minute of play forced Knapparnas IF's goalkeeper Hubert Nyström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hubert Nyström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michael Lindgren in the 44th minute of the match. Ernst Kvarnström charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernst Kvarnström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Knapparnas IF fans cheered their team off the field, for while Midland had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
