Måns Tolsson came free with the goalkeeper in the 20th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gordon Banks could save by the left post. Stefan Broman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Allan Holm having to make a save. Allan Holm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Broman in the 27th minute of the match. Stefan Broman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allan Holm having to interfere. Bengt Bengtsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allan Holm having to interfere. If Stefan Broman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 40 minutes into the game, Hammarby Sjöstad IF's Bengt Bengtsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stefan Broman was the one to do the kick off. The throw-in from Joakim Hultstrand in the 55th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Hammarby Sjöstad IF's Ragnar Söderström. 61 minutes into the game, Samba Holm's Måns Tolsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gordon Banks made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. If Stefan Broman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Samba Holm defense, Stefan Broman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Allan Holm. The Samba Holm fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Allan Holm should have stopped the shot. Stefan Broman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Allan Holm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stefan Broman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filip Martinsson got a throw-in 82 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Björn Uggla. When Fabian Dalström fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hammarby Sjöstad IF's protests and gave Fabian Dalström a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd match minute, Hammarby Sjöstad IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabian Dalström to maneuver through the defense. Stefan Broman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hammarby Sjöstad IF played a much better game than Samba Holm and deserved their victory. The Samba Holm players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
