The audience thought a goal was coming when Kaj Beckman got free with Allan Wennerström in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 0-1 became the score in the 17th minute when Jim Valler elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Elliott Bäcklin might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Allan Wennerström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elliott Bäcklin ran back to his position shaking his head. Greger Tunström kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Hofors's Allan Wennerström got control of the ball when Kaj Beckman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Elliott Bäcklin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allan Wennerström having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Kaj Beckman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gunnebo's supporters rose to their feet, but Kaj Beckman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Allan Wennerström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Samuel Ahlström charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuel Ahlström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th match minute, Hofors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Ahlström to maneuver through the defense. Allan Wennerström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elliott Bäcklin's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Elliott Bäcklin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elliott Bäcklin made a kick off. Allan Wennerström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaj Beckman in the 54th minute of the match. Kaj Beckman scored 2-1 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Allan Wennerström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Allan Wennerström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaj Beckman in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute Kaj Beckman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Wennerström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gunnebo's goalkeeper Filip Bäck, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Filip Bäck made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Jim Valler sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elliott Bäcklin in the 73rd minute of play forced Hofors's goalkeeper Allan Wennerström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Hofors defense, Elliott Bäcklin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Allan Wennerström. The Hofors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Allan Wennerström should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Hofors's zone, Elliott Bäcklin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Allan Wennerström came out of the goal and Elliott Bäcklin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 78 minutes into the game, Sven-Erik Ekenberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hofors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gunnebo the free kick. After a rather tough play, Hofors's Sven-Erik Ekenberg got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 80thth minute of the game Elliott Bäcklin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hofors's Allan Wennerström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kaj Beckman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Allan Wennerström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Elliott Bäcklin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Allan Wennerström. Hofors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elliott Bäcklin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. With a little luck, Gunnebo's Filip Bäck got control of the ball when Jim Valler tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Kaj Beckman came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Gunnebo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kaj Beckman couldn't finish the play. Gunnebo walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
