When Martin Ahlström fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rusksele FK's protests and gave Martin Ahlström a yellow card for diving instead. Valdemar Alén took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Håkan Sandell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Håkan Sandell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Valdemar Alén stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Håkan Sandell's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Östen Isaksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peter Willig made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Walter Springfält sent off a good shot on target. Håkan Ingemarsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter Willig read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Peter Willig was a little too slow when Axel Igelström got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 29th minute. The score was now 1-0. Håkan Sandell might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valdemar Alén. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Håkan Sandell ran back to his position shaking his head. After 35 played minutes Rusksele FK got a freekick which was hit by Axel Igelström. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rusksele FK's goalkeeper Valdemar Alén, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Walter Billock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Alén having to interfere. Håkan Sandell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Östen Isaksson was the one to do the kick off. If Håkan Ingemarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martin Ahlström got his second yellow card in the match during the 53rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Väja booed when Rusksele FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Ahlström didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the game, Håkan Ingemarsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Peter Willig was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 66 minutes, Håkan Sandell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Väja's supporters crossed their fingers, but Håkan Sandell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Håkan Sandell in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdemar Alén prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Walter Billock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Alén having to interfere. Väja's Peter Willig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Håkan Ingemarsson in the 79th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Väja's Niclas Bergendahl got a free kick in the 80th minute. Peter Willig stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Håkan Ingemarsson's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Walter Billock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Alén having to interfere. Håkan Sandell was extremely unlucky when he, in the 89th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Axel Igelström hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Håkan Sandell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Valdemar Alén tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
