The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Esbjörn Kjellkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. When Ian Ahlstedt, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 7 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Peder Hagström was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, George Modig dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Peder Hagström, 1-0. Ljusterö IFK's Peder Hagström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Modig in the 14th minute of play. When Ljungskile's George Modig in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ljusterö IFK's goalie prevented a goal. Allan Salqvist came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Ljusterö IFK's Herbert Sandberg. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ian Ahlstedt got free with Peder Hagström in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ljungskile's Ian Ahlstedt got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Ljusterö IFK getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Oskar Hybbert hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ljusterö IFK's zone, George Modig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peder Hagström came out of the goal and George Modig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ljusterö IFK's Peder Hagström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Modig in the 39th minute of play. When Ljungskile's Ian Ahlstedt in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ljusterö IFK's goalie prevented a goal. In the 46th minute, Pål Falkrantz had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 46 minutes into the game, Sonny Örtendal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ljusterö IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ljungskile the free kick. Sonny Örtendal hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ian Ahlstedt was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herbert Sandberg in the 58th minute of play forced Ljungskile's goalkeeper Allan Salqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ljusterö IFK's Herbert Sandberg was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 62nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After having played for 65 minutes, Ian Ahlstedt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ljungskile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ian Ahlstedt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ian Ahlstedt came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Ljungskile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ian Ahlstedt couldn't finish the play. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ljusterö IFK's goalkeeper Peder Hagström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peder Hagström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Ahlstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian Ahlstedt in the 83rd minute of play forced Ljusterö IFK's goalkeeper Peder Hagström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. George Modig struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Peder Hagström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ljungskile. If George Modig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ian Ahlstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Peder Hagström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle went the supporters of Ljusterö IFK were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Ljungskile side.
