In the 8th minute of the match Mårten Sundberg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mattias Albom skillfully saved the ball. Dennis Petersson hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Åke Ahlén blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mattias Albom having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Svanström in the 42nd minute of play forced Fårösund IF's goalkeeper Mattias Albom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mattias Albom stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fred Svanström's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The Vrävarna United fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when Vrävarna United's Fred Svanström looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A wasted opportunity for Vrävarna United. 97 minutes into the match, Fårösund IF's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Svanström came free, but Mattias Albom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Vrävarna United fully deserved thier win.
