Spectators: 7385 (Terracing: 5540, Seating: 1698, VIP seats: 147) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Albert Bröms kicked off to start the match. Albert Bröms's late challenge caught a Åsunda IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Albert Bröms helped the player get up and apologised. After 5 played minutes Hellas Malmö FC got a freekick which was hit by Albert Bröms. The supporters of Åsunda IF booed when Hellas Malmö FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lukas Pihlblad didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Felix Sjögren came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Åsunda IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Sjögren couldn't finish the play. Patrik Björkdahl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Olof Gulliksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olof Gulliksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jack Palmquist, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Albert Bröms's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olof Gulliksson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Norbert Chappuis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert Lövskog, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Albert Bröms received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Olof Gulliksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Albert Bröms was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 29 minutes had been played. A collision led to Hellas Malmö FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Albert Bröms hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute of the match John Nordin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Norbert Chappuis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jack Palmquist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpected shot in the 38th minute by Wiktor Haglund got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Patrik Björkdahl blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olof Gulliksson having to make a save. If Jack Palmquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Östen Fagerberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Norbert Chappuis made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Freddie Hermansson sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 67 minutes, Patrik Björkdahl managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jack Palmquist struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Olof Gulliksson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hellas Malmö FC. Åsunda IF's Olof Gulliksson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrik Björkdahl in the 78th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrik Björkdahl in the 79th minute of play forced Åsunda IF's goalkeeper Olof Gulliksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gert Lövskog sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Hellas Malmö FC's zone, Freddie Hermansson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norbert Chappuis came out of the goal and Freddie Hermansson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Hellas Malmö FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
