An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig Lidström in the 24th minute of play forced Djurgårdens IF's goalkeeper Ludwig Utter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sköldinge's defense didn't have a chance, in the 32nd minute, when Ove Alström scored to the left of an out of position Lars-Erik Westerstrand, making the score, 1-0. Torsten Beckström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lars-Erik Westerstrand having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Ove Alström took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Lars-Erik Westerstrand to make any attempt to save it. Ove Alström received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lars-Erik Westerstrand came out and tried to block the shot, but Ove Alström slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 43rd minute. In the 47th minute, one of Djurgårdens IF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Djurgårdens IF. Djurgårdens IF:s Ludwig Utter showed great skill when he stopped Patrik Pihlberg:s penalty.

The supporters of Djurgårdens IF booed when Sköldinge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joakim Spets didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fredrik Kilström's late challenge caught a Djurgårdens IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fredrik Kilström helped the player get up and apologised. After 65 played minutes Sköldinge got a freekick which was hit by Fredrik Kilström. In the 66th minute, Ove Alström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ove Alström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Calle Gunnarsson's late challenge caught a Djurgårdens IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
