The Motala fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Motala's Åke Björling proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Motala from getting a goal against them. Reine Wallander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sakarias Grönlund having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, Bo-Erik Aleberg recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Åke Björling. Bo-Erik Aleberg showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 19th minute, Torgny Skröder made a precise shot to the right of Åke Björling. Motala's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 22 minutes into the game, Dick Åberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Orions BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Motala the free kick. After a rather tough play, Orions BK's Dick Åberg got a free kick in the 22nd minute. With a little luck, Motala's Åke Björling got control of the ball when Tomas Sandberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Orions BK's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Åberg came free, but Sakarias Grönlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Orions BK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sakarias Grönlund should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jack Eklund to strike the kick off in the second half. Dick Åberg took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Åke Björling. Åke Björling dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. If Anton Åberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jack Eklund in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sakarias Grönlund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bo-Erik Aleberg in the 59th minute of play forced Motala's goalkeeper Åke Björling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Åke Björling took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torgny Skröder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Åke Björling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bo-Erik Aleberg in the 62nd minute of play. Åke Björling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torgny Skröder, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. During the 66th minute of the match Dick Åberg completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Dick Åberg a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 67th match minute, Orions BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dick Åberg to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the game, Simon Kinell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Motala's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Orions BK the free kick. If Torgny Skröder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. A collision led to Orions BK getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Ulrik Gustavsson hit a great ball. Anton Åberg didn't quite understand what happened when in the 89 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Jörgen Högström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Orions BK players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
