Sturkö were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after Djurgården's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Folke Ahlberg took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Folke Ahlberg got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gösta Fågel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 13 minutes into the match, Djurgården's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan Nordström came free, but Gösta Fågel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kjell Tidén hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stefan Nordström in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gösta Fågel saved Djurgården from getting behind. 17 minutes into the match, Djurgården's goal looked a bit too open when Joseph Johansson came free, but Gösta Fågel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Djurgården's Gösta Fågel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gert Haraldsson in the 19th minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Sturkö's Joseph Johansson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gösta Fågel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Djurgården's Gösta Fågel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Nordström in the 29th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Gert Haraldsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sturkö's supporters rose to their feet, but Gert Haraldsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gösta Fågel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute, Jan Västlund ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gösta Fågel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Peder Lingren blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reine Bergman having to make a save. In the 38th minute, Jan Västlund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frans Berggren hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. When Folke Ahlberg came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Sturkö fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Folke Ahlberg couldn't finish the play. If Stefan Nordström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Stefan Nordström made the kick off in the second half. Reine Bergman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peder Lingren, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 56 minutes into the match, Sturkö's goal looked a bit too open when Peder Lingren came free, but Reine Bergman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan-Ove Jonasson scored 1-2 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Reine Bergman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Stefan Nordström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gert Haraldsson kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Peder Lingren in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reine Bergman saved Sturkö from getting behind. Jan-Ove Jonasson struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Reine Bergman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Djurgården. In the 78th minute Joseph Johansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gösta Fågel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Djurgården's Gösta Fågel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Nordström in the 83rd minute of play. The supporters of Djurgården booed when Sturkö was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Västlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joseph Johansson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gösta Fågel came out and tried to block the shot, but Joseph Johansson slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 98th minute. Sturkö's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
