After a rather tough play, Sernard FC's Viggo Hellbom got a free kick in the 2nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Kajetan Borucki managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blyth Spartans's supporters rose to their feet, but Kajetan Borucki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Karlberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peter Karlberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claes Almqvist in the 5th minute of play. In the 8th minute Kajetan Borucki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Karlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mārtiņs Reitmanis's late challenge caught a Sernard FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mārtiņs Reitmanis helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Blyth Spartans's Mārtiņs Reitmanis got a free kick in the 10th minute. Sernard FC's Jesper Felin managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Patrick Carlberg in the 13 minute of the game. After some careless play in the Sernard FC defense, Claes Almqvist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Peter Karlberg. The Sernard FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peter Karlberg should have stopped the shot. In the 20th minute, Christian Skager hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from Jesper Felin in the 23rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Blyth Spartans's Thad Jøker. 25 minutes into the match, Claes Almqvist notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Sernard FC's Peter Karlberg. Peter Karlberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Claes Almqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Peter Karlberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claes Almqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Malte Almkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 33 minutes of play, Blyth Spartans's Claes Almqvist made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Peter Karlberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 35th match minute, Sernard FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edvard Åström to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute, Claes Almqvist made a precise shot to the right of Peter Karlberg. Sernard FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claes Almqvist in the 47th minute of play forced Sernard FC's goalkeeper Peter Karlberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Viggo Hellbom struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Magnus Hedman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sernard FC. Jesper Felin kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Claes Almqvist put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Peter Karlberg. Manfredo Fontes was extremely unlucky when he, in the 63rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Peter Karlberg made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Saturnino Valente sent off a good shot on target. Laureano Cordera might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peter Karlberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laureano Cordera ran back to his position shaking his head. Blyth Spartans's Xälil Qämbärov was substituted for Kajetan Borucki. The crowd rose to their feet as Saturnino Valente kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Peter Karlberg. That made the score 0-6 in the 72 minute of play. Malte Almkvist hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Sernard FC's Viggo Hellbom got a free kick in the 76th minute. Blyth Spartans's Xälil Qämbärov got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Peter Karlberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Saturnino Valente in the 79th minute. After a rather tough play, Blyth Spartans's Nestor Vedillo got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute Viggo Hellbom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magnus Hedman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peter Karlberg was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Saturnino Valente capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Saturnino Valente really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. The supporters of Blyth Spartans booed when Sernard FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elof Hjeltman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patrick Carlberg took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Peter Karlberg. Sernard FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Peter Karlberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joseph Hedin, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Peter Karlberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laureano Cordera went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. Blyth Spartans's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
