The supporters of Ashington FC booed when Säter BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Forssell didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute Sven-Arne Dahlqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Haeger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th minute, Säter BK's Rutger Bergström ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mikael Göransson. Mikael Göransson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Säter BK's zone, Isak Dahlberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Haeger came out of the goal and Isak Dahlberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th minute, Henry Nyberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ashington FC's Mikael Göransson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Ashington FC from getting a goal against them. 21 minutes into the match, Säter BK's goal looked a bit too open when Timmy Wennerquist came free, but Jonathan Haeger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Ashington FC's Timmy Wennerquist nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Haeger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 30th minute, Ashington FC's Henry Nyberg seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Henry Nyberg the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ashington FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Henry Nyberg had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 32nd minute, Tage Siöman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 33 minutes into the match, Säter BK's goal looked a bit too open when Timmy Wennerquist came free, but Jonathan Haeger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Haeger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timmy Wennerquist, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. If Isak Dahlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hannes Juhlin's late challenge caught a Säter BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mats Axelsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Mikael Göransson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fritz Gustafsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 62 minutes into the match, Säter BK's goalkeeper Jonathan Haeger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Timmy Wennerquist. 63 minutes into the match, Ashington FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sivert Ahlrot came free, but Mikael Göransson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 68 minutes, Tage Siöman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Säter BK and the Ashington FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 69 minutes, Timmy Wennerquist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ashington FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Timmy Wennerquist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mikael Göransson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fritz Gustafsson went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Mikael Göransson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sivert Ahlrot, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After a rather tough play, Ashington FC's Isak Dahlberg got a free kick in the 91st minute. After 95 minutes Ashington FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tage Siöman who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Säter BK's Tage Siöman to fire away a dangerous shot which Mikael Göransson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Säter BK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ashington FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
