Gilbert Nordin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Harry Lundström when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gilbert Nordin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harry Lundström having to interfere. After 20 minutes, Herbert Hjortsberg made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Utö F K's Per-Åke Brolin tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Harry Lundström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ove Karlberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Utö F K's zone, Herbert Hjortsberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Per-Åke Brolin came out of the goal and Herbert Hjortsberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilbert Nordin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute, Gilbert Nordin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Harry Lundström. The goal made the score 1-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gilbert Nordin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Herbert Hjortsberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Utö F K supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching AS Roma's performance. The match ended with a win for AS Roma.
