An unexpectedly hard shot by Gottfrid Hasselqvist in the 3rd minute of play forced Holm SK's goalkeeper Matthias Landin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute, Thomas Kollberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Liverpool FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Matthias Landin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thomas Kollberg in the 15th minute. In the 18th match minute, Liverpool FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sakarias Unesson to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Alf Åström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Holm SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Alf Åström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andreas Karlsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th minute Gottfrid Hasselqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthias Landin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Holm SK's goalkeeper Matthias Landin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ragnar Walmarsson. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gottfrid Hasselqvist to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Holm SK booed when Liverpool FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gottfrid Hasselqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matthias Landin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomas Kollberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robin Fredriksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Liverpool FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Hampus Kellman hit a great ball. 64 minutes into the game, Robin Fredriksson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Andreas Karlsson. Robin Fredriksson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Kåre Söderqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Karlsson having to interfere. Matthias Landin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gottfrid Hasselqvist in the 71st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alf Åström in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andreas Karlsson saved Liverpool FC from getting behind. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Thomas Kollberg sped through Holm SK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Matthias Landin. Matthias Landin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Kollberg in the 93rd minute of play. When Kåre Söderqvist fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Holm SK's protests and gave Kåre Söderqvist a yellow card for diving instead. In the 95th minute, Kåre Söderqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Holm SK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Liverpool FC.
