Kurt Ekman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mats Tönnberg in the 12th minute of play. When Jan Jönsson fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rivierans Guldgossar's protests and gave Jan Jönsson a yellow card for diving instead. Sven-Åke Bjurström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Magne Pihl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nils Sandberg hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The goalkeeper, Sven-Åke Bjurström, was totally fooled by Rivierans Guldgossar's Nils-Erik Stor, who 32 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Rivierans Guldgossar's Magne Pihl got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Filip Blom lost his temper 42 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rivierans Guldgossar!

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rune Östensson to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Alfred Pilberg threw the ball into play from the sideline. Rivierans Guldgossar's Jan Jönsson quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Rune Östensson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 55 minutes of play, Vargön Alloys FC's Mats Tönnberg made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kurt Ekman was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pär Odin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the match, Rivierans Guldgossar's Egil Åkesson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sven-Åke Bjurström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rivierans Guldgossar's Kurt Ekman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Rivierans Guldgossar from getting a goal against them. 69 minutes into the match, Vargön Alloys FC's Kåre Qvarnström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kurt Ekman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kurt Ekman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mats Tönnberg in the 70th minute. After 76 played minutes Vargön Alloys FC got a freekick which was hit by Lars-Erik Beckström. Mats Tönnberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Kurt Ekman made a huge save. Mats Tönnberg succeeded in the game's 82nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. Nils-Erik Stor hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Vargön Alloys FC's Kåre Qvarnström shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 87th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Kurt Ekman but with some difficulty. Mats Tönnberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Kurt Ekman made a huge save. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
