Richard Nyberg hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute, Nils Magnusson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anton Lund was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nils Magnusson in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anton Lund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Åke Forsman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anton Lund having to interfere. Anton Lund stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Åke Forsman's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 28th minute, Alex Söderkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the match, Kivs United's goal looked a bit too open when Patrik Dalström came free, but Anton Lund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute, Nils Magnusson made a precise shot to the right of Anton Lund. Kivs United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Kivs United's zone, Nils Magnusson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anton Lund came out of the goal and Nils Magnusson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alex Söderkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 43rd minute, Richard Nyberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evert Sandberg hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zé Augusto Botelho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nils Magnusson might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anton Lund. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nils Magnusson ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Kivs United's Sven-Ove Sundberg got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 55 minutes into the game, Nils Magnusson lined in a short shot 0-3 behind a frustrated Anton Lund. In the 58th minute Nils Magnusson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anton Lund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anton Lund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kjell Abrahamsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 60 played minutes Kivs United got a freekick which was hit by Stig-Ove Westerstrand. Anton Lund acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 61st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jarl Willig. Nils Magnusson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nils Magnusson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Anton Lund made a huge save. After 65 minutes, Zé Augusto Botelho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kivs United and the Vargön IFK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Vargön IFK booed when Kivs United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Augusto Botelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vargön IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alex Söderkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kivs United's Anton Lund proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Kivs United from getting a goal against them. In the 91st minute Alex Söderkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anton Lund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viktor Östman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Anton Lund made a huge save. Stig-Ove Westerstrand kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Jarl Willig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vargön IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Jarl Willig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anton Lund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match was over Vargön IFK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Kivs United throughout the match.
