The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, IFK Göteborg's Ralf Walmarsson got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 12th minute Harry Ahlberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Östen Björkqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ma Bang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ralf Walmarsson in the 17th minute of play. Svante Bollström struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Ma Bang didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IFK Göteborg. 21 minutes into the game, Harry Ahlberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. When Eric Källberg fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored IFK Göteborg's protests and gave Eric Källberg a yellow card for diving instead. Eric Källberg kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rune Lagerberg in the 37th minute of play forced IFK Göteborg's goalkeeper Östen Björkqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hampus Andersson charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hampus Andersson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of IFK Göteborg booed when Klagstorp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hampus Andersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eric Källberg hit a great ball. 68 minutes into the match, Klagstorp's Stellan Beneth broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Östen Björkqvist came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Klagstorp's Harry Ahlberg. But to his dismay, Harry Ahlberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. After 75 played minutes IFK Göteborg got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Sjöman. Stellan Beneth charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stellan Beneth the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 80 minutes into the game, when Börje Stål put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Klagstorp fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty! In the 83rd minute there was a penalty for IFK Göteborg. Svante Bollström stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ma Bang. 2-3. Walter Östensson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ma Bang having to interfere. IFK Göteborg's Östen Björkqvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save IFK Göteborg from getting a goal against them.
