The audience thought a goal was coming when Benjamin Arvidsson got free with Mathias Löfgren in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A well placed Johannes Ugla short distance shot in the 21st minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. GOTHENBURG FOOTBALL CLUB's Mathias Löfgren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save GOTHENBURG FOOTBALL CLUB from getting a goal against them. When Hans Stenström fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GOTHENBURG FOOTBALL CLUB's protests and gave Hans Stenström a yellow card for diving instead. If Johannes Ugla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benjamin Arvidsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Mathias Löfgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Johannes Ugla got free in front of the goal in the 52nd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Mathias Löfgren was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. With a little luck, Aranja FK's Lars Rolandsson got control of the ball when Hans Stenström tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eric Lundström during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bertil Almqvist made a great header on GOTHENBURG FOOTBALL CLUB's corner, it was just that Aranja FK's Lars Rolandsson managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 79th minute Petter Örtendal suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Benjamin Arvidsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathias Löfgren having to interfere. After a rather tough play, GOTHENBURG FOOTBALL CLUB's Bertil Almqvist got a free kick in the 97th minute. Aranja FK's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
