An unexpectedly hard shot by Edwin Svensson in the 13th minute of play forced Minnesota FF's goalkeeper Agustin Henry to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Afşar Ünalmış in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tobias Fernström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lucas Larsson kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After 20 played minutes FC Fortuna XIII got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Larsson. FC Fortuna XIII's Edwin Svensson got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24th minute Tommy Andreasson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agustin Henry saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Afşar Ünalmış came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Minnesota FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afşar Ünalmış couldn't finish the play. Lucas Larsson kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. If Eleuterio Montay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Afşar Ünalmış's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tobias Fernström was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Afşar Ünalmış sped through FC Fortuna XIII's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tobias Fernström. Tobias Fernström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afşar Ünalmış, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Tommy Andreasson came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the FC Fortuna XIII fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tommy Andreasson couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Boris Juhlin during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 92ndth minute of the game Afşar Ünalmış who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Fortuna XIII's Tobias Fernström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. August Svensson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Fernström having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Minnesota FF players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
