After 16 minutes, Joachim Groth made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Råssnäs IF's Sten Tinglöf tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Birger Algren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kent Vennerberg in the 19th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Wållander in the 20th minute of play forced AIK Fotboll's goalkeeper Birger Algren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th match minute, AIK Fotboll was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils Flinck to maneuver through the defense. After 26 played minutes, Råssnäs IF's Magne Käcker shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Birger Algren came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Råssnäs IF reached it. 31 minutes into the game, Råssnäs IF's Robert Wållander nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Birger Algren made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 35 minutes into the match, AIK Fotboll's goal looked a bit too open when Kent Vennerberg came free, but Birger Algren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joachim Groth kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Birger Algren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kent Vennerberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Råssnäs IF getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Magne Käcker hit a great ball.

Birger Algren was a little too slow when Kent Vennerberg got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 2-3. After a rather tough play, AIK Fotboll's Rickard Melander got a free kick in the 56th minute. The long shot by Magne Käcker in the 58th minute really tested Birger Algren's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Sten Tinglöf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joachim Groth, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 65 minutes into the game, Kent Vennerberg recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Birger Algren. Kent Vennerberg showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-4. After 69 played minutes Råssnäs IF got a freekick which was hit by Magne Käcker. In the 70th minute, Börje Jönsson sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Råssnäs IF's Sten Tinglöf didn't even have to move. After a rather tough play, AIK Fotboll's Hampus Ström got a free kick in the 78th minute. Robert Wållander's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Birger Algren firmly grabbed it by the left post. Sten Tinglöf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joachim Groth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sten Tinglöf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joachim Groth in the 84th minute of play. With his leg Birger Algren managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Råssnäs IF's Robert Wållander fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 87th minute, Råssnäs IF's Kent Vennerberg ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Birger Algren. Birger Algren yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-5. The throw-in from Hampus Ström in the 93rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Råssnäs IF's Inge Löv. The Råssnäs IF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Råssnäs IF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
