Sverker Vennerkvist hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. The supporters of Orhems BK booed when Goteborg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kent Ström didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute Brian Rolfsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fredrik Strömberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fredrik Strömberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sture Stor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fredrik Strömberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brian Rolfsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Olle Malmgren scored 0-3 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fredrik Strömberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Erling Broman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
