With a little luck, Laxå IK's Eric Grep got control of the ball when Kenny Lindgren tried to sneak it across the goal line. Samuel Sellberg struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Eric Grep didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galatasaray SK. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Samuel Sellberg put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Eric Grep. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mieszko Piechna got free with Eric Grep in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Albäck in the 25th minute of play forced Galatasaray SK's goalkeeper Henning Sundberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Laxå IK defense, Samuel Sellberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eric Grep. The Laxå IK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eric Grep should have stopped the shot. After 40 played minutes Galatasaray SK got a freekick which was hit by Pär Fredriksson. After having played for 41 minutes, Valentin Blom managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laxå IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentin Blom was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 46 minutes into the game, Laxå IK's Erik Albäck nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henning Sundberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Samuel Sellberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Laxå IK's Silviano Abendano got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Galatasaray SK were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after Laxå IK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Olof Asplund took the corner. The corner led Galatasaray SK's Mieszko Piechna to fire away a dangerous shot which Eric Grep despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Galatasaray SK were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after Laxå IK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Olof Asplund took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Mieszko Piechna heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valentin Blom in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henning Sundberg saved Galatasaray SK from getting behind. When Laxå IK's Valentin Blom in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Galatasaray SK's goalie prevented a goal. Eric Grep showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenny Lindgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. When Pär Fredriksson fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galatasaray SK's protests and gave Pär Fredriksson a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Galatasaray SK getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Kim Kellbom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Eric Grep tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Fredrik Winström fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Laxå IK's protests and gave Fredrik Winström a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Laxå IK's Fredrik Winström got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 72nd match minute, Laxå IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fredrik Winström to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute, Simon Åkerman made a precise shot to the right of Eric Grep. Laxå IK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. After 91 minutes of play, Galatasaray SK's Simon Åkerman made it 7-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eric Grep was left in no man's land by his defense there! There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Galatasaray SK fully deserved thier win.
