The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of GKS Katowice booed when FKS Stal Mielec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zachary Cichowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ziemowit Falk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Borys Cwojdak in the 6th minute of the match. Borys Cwojdak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Ziemowit Falk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adam Cwenar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobiasz Pierz having to interfere. After 16 played minutes GKS Katowice got a freekick which was hit by Witold Rutkowski. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dominik Zuraw got free with Tobiasz Pierz in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Borys Cwojdak blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ziemowit Falk having to make a save. Sylwester Budrewicz kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. If Borys Cwojdak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Borys Cwojdak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ziemowit Falk was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Borys Cwojdak in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ziemowit Falk saved FKS Stal Mielec from getting behind. Ziemowit Falk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Mitus, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After 44 minutes, Ludomil Piesciuk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GKS Katowice and the FKS Stal Mielec players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, GKS Katowice's Ludomil Piesciuk got a free kick in the 44th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Boleslaw Mazierski during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adam Cwenar was the one to do the kick off. Ziemowit Falk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Borys Cwojdak, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. An unexpected shot in the 57th minute by Leon Mitus got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Boleslaw Mazierski kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Tobiasz Pierz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Cwenar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 71 minutes into the match, FKS Stal Mielec's goalkeeper Ziemowit Falk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leon Mitus. Ziemowit Falk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Borys Cwojdak in the 75th minute of play. Leon Mitus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Ziemowit Falk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, FKS Stal Mielec's goalkeeper Ziemowit Falk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leon Mitus. Borys Cwojdak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 91st minute, Tolek Przybylo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leon Mitus's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Ziemowit Falk skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With his leg Ziemowit Falk managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when GKS Katowice's Leon Mitus fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
