Zachariasz Modliszewski came out and tried to block the shot, but Tomasz Chazen slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 17th minute. In the 20th minute, Marcin Wietrzychowski made a precise shot to the right of Zachariasz Modliszewski. Polonia Łaziska's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 23rd minute Zenon Bielenda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zachariasz Modliszewski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Norbert Komanski was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 24 minutes into the match. Zachariasz Modliszewski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zenon Bielenda went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score.

There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sevilla FC fully deserved thier win.
