Melby Ballklubb's Sturle Bjerkan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Langfeldt in the 12th minute of play. Niklas Nyvoll took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andreas Frafjord. Andreas Frafjord dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 21 played minutes Melby Ballklubb got a freekick which was hit by Martin Kvaløy. In the 24th minute, Melby Ballklubb's Stefan Øye seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Stefan Øye the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Melby Ballklubb protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Stefan Øye had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Melby Ballklubb fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 23rd minute. Penalty! Terje Visnes walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Andreas Frafjord successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Rugland BF's Elias Botnen got a free kick in the 30th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Melby Ballklubb's Joakim Raastad sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andreas Frafjord narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Joakim Raastad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sturle Bjerkan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ole-Kristian Fauskanger in the 37th minute of play. Martin Sollid received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Andreas Frafjord tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Rugland BF's goal looked a bit too open when Joakim Raastad came free, but Andreas Frafjord reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Sollid in the 47th minute of play forced Rugland BF's goalkeeper Andreas Frafjord to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joakim Raastad to make the kick off. Elias Botnen scored 1-1 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sturle Bjerkan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Joakim Raastad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Frafjord having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Martin Sollid managed to get in a good position for a shot. Melby Ballklubb's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Sollid was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andreas Frafjord breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alexander Langfeldt scored 1-2 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sturle Bjerkan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sturle Bjerkan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alexander Langfeldt showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 67 minute of play. Martin Sollid struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Andreas Frafjord didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Melby Ballklubb. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Fossmark during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 98th minute, Rugland BF's Ole-Kristian Fauskanger ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sturle Bjerkan. Sturle Bjerkan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-5.
