The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Karsten Killi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrik Hall in the 10th minute of play. Henrik Hall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Preben Skogheim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Christer Storli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulrik Fimreite in the 18th minute of play forced Breidablik's goalkeeper Christer Storli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute Preben Skogheim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christer Storli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ulrik Fimreite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 25th minute by Bjørn Rømo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ulrik Fimreite during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bjørn Rømo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bjørn Rømo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bjørn Rømo to make the kick off. When Andreas Truong came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Kjellmyra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andreas Truong couldn't finish the play. Bjørn Rømo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Karsten Killi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Breidablik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven Nævdal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kjellmyra's Karsten Killi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bjørn Rømo in the 67th minute of play. If Bjørn Rømo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Henrik Hall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Bjørn Rømo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Breidablik's supporters rose to their feet, but Bjørn Rømo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karsten Killi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Henrik Hall struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Karsten Killi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Breidablik. Karsten Killi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bjørn Rømo in the 86th minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, Roar Haagensen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Breidablik's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kjellmyra the free kick. 95 minutes into the game, Verner Groven threw the ball into play from the sideline. Breidablik's Arthur Fagereng quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. There was no doubt that Breidablik were the better team. Breidablik's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
