After 26 played minutes Heiberg SC got a freekick which was hit by Yuri de Zaaijer. After some careless play in the Heiberg SC defense, Harry Veenhuis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jelle Pinksteren. The Heiberg SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jelle Pinksteren should have stopped the shot. Kurt Landman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Heiberg SC's Jelle Pinksteren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Bosma in the 43rd minute of play. If Jan Bosma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Schoonbeek was a little too slow when Kurt Landman got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 1-2. After the first half Sun Boys were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The supporters of Heiberg SC booed when Sun Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harry Veenhuis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Heiberg SC's Koen Dekker tried to score from far away in the 55th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 59 minutes into the match, Eddy Breinburg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Schoonbeek. Sun Boys's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eddy Breinburg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Heiberg SC's goalkeeper Jelle Pinksteren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan Bosma got free with Jelle Pinksteren in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jan Bosma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 91 minutes, Jan Bosma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sun Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Bosma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd minute, Jan Bosma got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kristof Janus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jelle Pinksteren having to interfere. Kristof Janus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Jelle Pinksteren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sun Boys were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
