The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hubert de Swart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niclas Dalström having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hubert de Swart in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Niclas Dalström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathijs Saelman in the 7th minute of play forced Boevenheuvel's goalkeeper Dirk Haremeijer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 8 minutes, Jordy Roswinkel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Beetsterweg SC and the Boevenheuvel players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Boevenheuvel booed when Beetsterweg SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordy Roswinkel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niclas Dalström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hubert de Swart in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute Mathijs Saelman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dirk Haremeijer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Mathijs Saelman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mathijs Saelman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Dirk Haremeijer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Rolf Sneijder managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beetsterweg SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rolf Sneijder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dirk Haremeijer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 20th minute, Mathijs Saelman reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dirk Haremeijer. The goal made the score 1-0. After 23 played minutes Beetsterweg SC got a freekick which was hit by Fabiën Swart. Beetsterweg SC's Rolf Sneijder got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 31 in the game by Rolf Sneijder from a close distance when the talented Dirk Haremeijer managed to make a qualified save. Boevenheuvel's players were relieved. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabiën Swart during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 39 minutes into the match, Boevenheuvel's Roeland Zandstra broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a rather tough play, Beetsterweg SC's Fabiën Swart got a free kick in the 45th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Serge Donderwinkel made a kick off. Beetsterweg SC's Niclas Dalström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Beetsterweg SC from getting a goal against them. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Boevenheuvel's goalkeeper Dirk Haremeijer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hendrik Brugmans during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rolf Sneijder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dirk Haremeijer having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Beetsterweg SC's Fabiën Swart got a free kick in the 74th minute. 79 minutes into the match, Rolf Sneijder had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dirk Haremeijer. Boevenheuvel's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rolf Sneijder was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After 82 minutes, Jelle Janssens mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Beetsterweg SC and the Boevenheuvel players grew even worse after the yellow card. The long shot by Roeland Zandstra in the 83rd minute really tested Niclas Dalström's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Hubert de Swart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serge Donderwinkel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Beetsterweg SC's goalkeeper Niclas Dalström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
