The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Doorwerth getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Ernest Jansen hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Nico-Jan Koerts's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martien Remmelts was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Daniël van Baarle's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rik Veentjer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Daniël van Baarle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rik Veentjer having to interfere. In the 11th minute Menno Zuiverloon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martien Remmelts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nick Baalen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nick Baalen got free with Rik Veentjer in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 17 played minutes RKSV ROGIER got a freekick which was hit by Mike Robbermond. Doorwerth's Martien Remmelts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Menno Zuiverloon in the 24th minute of play. In the 24th minute, Menno Zuiverloon made a precise shot to the right of Martien Remmelts. Doorwerth's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Martien Remmelts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Menno Zuiverloon in the 28th minute of play. If Nico-Jan Koerts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Wilfried Hommes fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rik Veentjer, passed just outside the right post. Gerwin Fens hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mathieu Appeldoorn during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mathieu Appeldoorn kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Hendrik-Jan Overmars fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martien Remmelts having to interfere. After the first half RKSV ROGIER were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Daniël van Baarle made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mike Robbermond during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to RKSV ROGIER getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Mike Robbermond hit a great ball. Daniël van Baarle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martien Remmelts made an important save on a dangerous shot by Menno Zuiverloon in the 70th minute. Martien Remmelts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nico-Jan Koerts, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 76 minutes into the match, RKSV ROGIER's Nico-Jan Koerts sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martien Remmelts narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 78 minutes into the game, Joris Fellinger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RKSV ROGIER's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Doorwerth the free kick. In the 79th match minute, RKSV ROGIER was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joris Fellinger to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute, Nick Baalen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 83rd minute, Daniël van Baarle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rik Veentjer was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 86 minutes into the match, Nick Baalen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rik Veentjer. RKSV ROGIER's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nick Baalen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Menno Zuiverloon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Martien Remmelts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nick Baalen struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Rik Veentjer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Doorwerth. Rik Veentjer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniël van Baarle, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Daniël van Baarle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doorwerth's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
