VV Roden's Roger Willems got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronny Fens hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Florian Duinhoven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roger Willems in the 20th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, IJzevoorde V.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Niels-Jan Tonnis came free, but Florian Duinhoven reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Timo Riemers made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Henry Daverveld sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, VV Roden's Timo Riemers got control of the ball when Henry Daverveld tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, VV Roden's Gerard Klaasens got a free kick in the 34th minute. Fred Kregel struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Timo Riemers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IJzevoorde V.V.. Roger Willems scored 1-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Florian Duinhoven, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of IJzevoorde V.V. booed when VV Roden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Korsma didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 41 minutes of play, IJzevoorde V.V.'s Henry Daverveld made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Timo Riemers was left in no man's land by his defense there! With his leg Timo Riemers managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when IJzevoorde V.V.'s Henry Daverveld fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Niels-Jan Tonnis was the one to do the kick off. Florian Duinhoven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niels-Jan Tonnis in the 52nd minute of the match. Sjoerd van der Wiel kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mariano Ranolfo during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to VV Roden getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Mariano Ranolfo hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, Henry Daverveld notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of VV Roden's Timo Riemers. Timo Riemers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Timo Riemers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Henry Daverveld went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. Florian Duinhoven made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roger Willems in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd match minute, IJzevoorde V.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronny Fens to maneuver through the defense. IJzevoorde V.V.'s Florian Duinhoven proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save IJzevoorde V.V. from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Ranolfo got free with Florian Duinhoven in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 91st match minute, VV Roden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Willems to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of VV Roden booed when IJzevoorde V.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronny Fens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcus Klaus charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcus Klaus the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of IJzevoorde V.V.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of VV Roden:s goal. When the match had been going on for 96 minutes, VV Roden's Sjoerd van der Wiel got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Florian Duinhoven. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The IJzevoorde V.V. fans cheered their team off the field, for while VV Roden had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
