But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stijn Molenaar couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kelvin van den Eede during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ivo Decheiver made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abraham Vorenkamp in the 18th minute. Taco Bette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dirk Visser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Rogier Boon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Co van Fessum hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Rogier Boon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cees Aalders in the 29th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Cees Aalders's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rogier Boon was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abraham Vorenkamp was the one to do the kick off. Ivo Decheiver showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Vorenkamp, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 58 minutes into the match, Abraham Vorenkamp notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Woudbloem's Ivo Decheiver. Ivo Decheiver was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Woudbloem's zone, Abraham Vorenkamp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivo Decheiver came out of the goal and Abraham Vorenkamp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Woudbloem's Cees Aalders in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Varselder S.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Edgar de Vries kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Ivo Decheiver showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Vorenkamp in the 76th minute of the match. Stijn Molenaar scored 2-1 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivo Decheiver, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cees Aalders received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rogier Boon came out and tried to block the shot, but Cees Aalders slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cees Aalders in the 96th minute of play forced Varselder S.C.'s goalkeeper Rogier Boon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Woudbloem supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Woudbloem would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
