The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Roestenburg FC's Folker Jansen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Roestenburg FC from getting a goal against them. Foeke Assendelft showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Lavalle in the 5th minute of the match. When Zwagerveen's Sipke Thijsse in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Roestenburg FC's goalie prevented a goal. 10 minutes into the match, Roestenburg FC's goalkeeper Folker Jansen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sipke Thijsse. Roestenburg FC's Dries Sloedingen got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Folker Jansen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sipke Thijsse's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Sipke Thijsse put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Folker Jansen. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Mark Heitinga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zwagerveen's supporters rose to their feet, but Mark Heitinga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Folker Jansen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 24 minutes into the match, Zwagerveen's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Lavalle came free, but Foeke Assendelft reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sipke Thijsse in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Folker Jansen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Roestenburg FC's Folker Jansen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Roestenburg FC from getting a goal against them. After 32 minutes Roestenburg FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sipke Thijsse who took care of the corner kick. Zwagerveen's Sipke Thijsse was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Folker Jansen in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Foeke Assendelft didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rolf Kemper went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Folker Jansen made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Rogier de Kort sent off a good shot on target. Sipke Thijsse blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Folker Jansen having to make a save. Mark Heitinga took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Folker Jansen. Folker Jansen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. When Marc Olfers came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Zwagerveen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marc Olfers couldn't finish the play. Rogier de Kort received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Folker Jansen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sipke Thijsse to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Rogier de Kort ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Folker Jansen was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Sipke Thijsse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Folker Jansen having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Rogier de Kort notched a goal, 6-1, to the right of Roestenburg FC's Folker Jansen. Folker Jansen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Mark Heitinga came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Zwagerveen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark Heitinga couldn't finish the play. Rolf Kemper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sipke Thijsse in the 95th minute of play forced Roestenburg FC's goalkeeper Folker Jansen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zwagerveen walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
